St. Petersburg joins RapidILL
The impact and popularity of RapidILL at St Petersburg College has been impressive from the start. It was so impressive that it took less than ten minutes from turning on borrowing, till we had our first request. Since then, patron requests have increased over 3000% from the same time the previous year! Historically, the April-July period has been a slow time for requests, so it will be interesting to see what happens when we get into a more traditionally active period. Patron feedback has been extremely favorable noting the greater access to resources, the quick turnaround time, and the ease of delivery. It has been a win-win for everyone. We’ve been extremely pleased with the product, and every time we demonstrate how easy it is to place a request, we get a new convert. In the next few months, the college is going to start participating in lending, and we will be more than happy to return the favor of filling requests for others.
