CZUTL (Community Zone Update Task List) is not just a beloved acronym for people who have no idea what it is. It’s a good tool to keep track of what changes are being sent out from the Community Zone that affect the electronic inventory in your institution (bibliographic descriptive metadata, portfolio coverage and linking changes, and electronic services linking changes). Come hear some tips on how to navigate the CZUTL. 

How to Manage Open Access (OA) Content in Alma. Kailey Fallis, Electronic Resources and Metadata Librarian, University of Guelph;  

How does your library manage OA content in Alma? Do you have a process for evaluating OA collections in the Community Zone (CZ)? Do you maintain local open access collections? At the University of Guelph library, we asked these questions during the process of creating an OA management in Alma framework. After migrating to Alma, we noticed a need for a framework outlining how we select, maintain, and provide access to OA content. Many of our migrated OA links were broken and outdated. We also had no clear direction on what OA collections we activate from the CZ. This presentation will discuss OA content in Alma, as well as our decision-making process and current framework on how we manage open access content in Alma.  

Using E-Resource Call Numbers to Create Annual Report Cards. Laura Pascual, Director of Collections and Discovery, University of South Florida Libraries; Zhao Liu, Electronic Resource Catalog Librarian, University of South Florida Libraries. 

The University of South Florida Libraries has implemented annual report cards to reflect collection growth in 12 critical areas of collection development. These report cards are created using data gathered from Alma Analytics which are based on LC Classification. It became imperative for USF Libraries to place call numbers on as many electronic resources as possible to improve the accuracy of our statistical reporting. In the face of over 100,000 electronic resources without call numbers, the cataloging team developed a programmatic solution to add call numbers to these records. Learn how to use Alma Analytics to create these Report Cards and how USF used Python programming and APIs to automate the call number remediation process.
