Members of the ELUNA community:

With the start of 2018, the ELUNA Steering Committee will be relaunching ELUNA’s quarterly newsletter. There’s a lot of activity going on, in planning for the ELUNA Annual Meeting and among members of ELUNA and joint ELUNA/IGeLU working groups.

ELUNA 2018
Planning continues for this year’s ELUNA Annual Meeting, scheduled for May 1-4 at the Davenport Grand hotel in Spokane, Washington. Please visit the conference site for additional information. Online registration will open in March. If you’re planning to attend and haven’t registered for a hotel room, it’s a good idea to do this at this time. Visit this site for more information and to reserve a room.

See this site for more information on Ex Libris’ Technical Seminar, which will be held on April 30 and May 1 at the conference site in Spokane.

Ex Libris product enhancements
The Alma and Primo enhancement cycles and timelines have been announced. These two product cycles are now closely synchronized to allow better communication between enhancement managers on the working groups (for example, by sending a request from the Primo to the Alma product voting when appropriate).

Enhancement submission deadlines are coming up, in terms of submission for requests to NERS that will be considered in 2018 voting: February 10 for Alma, February 17 for Primo).

ELUNA Leganto Working Group
For the Leganto course reading list product: The newly-created ELUNA Leganto Working Group will begin its work this month. Carl Grant (Associate Dean, Knowledge Services & Chief Technology Officer, University of Oklahoma Libraries) will be the first chair of this group, which will hold its first in-person meeting during May’s ELUNA meeting.

ELUNA Steering Committee elections
ELUNA Steering Committee elections will be held this spring. One seat is expected to be open for election. The current timeline has the call for nominations being posted to ELUNA’s Announce listserv on February 9 and closing on February 28, with voting to occur in March. Please consider stepping up for this opportunity.
