Voting for New Content Providers open through December 9

We are reaching out to encourage your participation in the upcoming CERV (Community Enhancement Requests and Voting) Enhancement Voting for Content, a crucial process where your voice and vote will significantly influence which new Content Providers Ex Libris will attempt to add in 2025. CERV replaces the previous NERS enhancement process. We have 95 Content requests to consider for this cycle. Ex Libris can add up to 20 new providers each year, depending on various factors.

Voting Period (November 26th-December 9th)

The voting window opens on November 26th at 00:00 GMT and will close on December 9th at 23:59 GMT. This period provides ample time for you to review the options and make informed decisions that will shape our collective future.

New Providers

In this voting round, we are prioritizing new content providers for Ex Libris. Ballot items were chosen from 2024 Idea Exchange submissions requesting entirely new providers. The ten highest voted providers and ten runner-up providers will be delivered to Ex Libris.

Prioritization of Italian and Japanese Language Resources

This voting cycle we are giving special attention to the enhancement of Italian and Japanese language resources. Recognizing the growing need and demand for diverse language collections, we aim to increase our offerings in these areas. Your votes will play a pivotal role in ensuring that these language resources receive the focus they deserve, enhancing accessibility and inclusivity within our libraries.

At least 1 new Italian and 1 new Japanese provider will be included in the top ten list provided to Ex Libris, with at least 1 of each also included in the runners-up list.

(NOTE: We had previously announced that Italian and Chinese language resources would be prioritized. Since there were no requests received for new Chinese providers, we switched the prioritization to Japanese instead, as Japanese was the next highest language represented after Italian.)

Your participation in this process is not just a vote; it’s a contribution to the evolution and improvement of the content in our library service offerings. Let’s work together to make our collective voice heard and our resources more robust and inclusive.
