The Ball State University Libraries is looking for a talented librarian to join our committed and highly-engaged team of professionals as Electronic Resources and Collection Development Librarian. Joining colleagues in the Collections and Resource Acquisition Services unit, this position plays a vital role in developing, managing, and sustaining University Libraries’ electronic and physical resource collections to support student success and faculty teaching and research.

Duties and Responsibilities: Perform activities related to developing and sustaining University Libraries’ electronic and physical resource collections to meet user needs, including material selection, deselection, preservation, evaluation and assessment; coordinate pre-order activities for new e-resource acquisition, including trials and licensing; serve as collection development liaison for assigned academic departments; support an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative work environment and service culture to advance the strategic directions of the University Libraries.

Minimum Qualifications: MLS/MLIS/MIS degree from an ALA accredited program. Experience (including coursework/internships) with electronic resources, collections development and management, library acquisitions, or other related area. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and within a team environment; ability to plan, coordinate, and manage projects; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications: Additional advanced degrees. Electronic resources, collections development, or acquisitions experience in an academic library; experience with library automated systems, such as OCLC, GOBI, ALMA; demonstrated analytical abilities including use of qualitative/quantitative data analysis and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with project development and management.
