With a user-centered mindset, the Head of Metadata Services and Strategies provides forward-thinking leadership to the department responsible for original and copy cataloging, authority control, and development of standards and policy for bibliographic control. This role will lead the department in the creation and ingestion of metadata that aids in the discoverability of information resources held locally and globally as well as exploring new practices to expand discoverability. Partnering with metadata stakeholders across the Library, this role sets appropriate levels of description related to collections and develops and leads metadata initiatives.
