Rapido Open Forum on Accessibility – September 15th, 10 a.m. (PDT)

The Rapido Working Group is starting the new academic year with an open forum on the Working Group’s primary focus for the 2026/2027 FY: Accessibility. Please join us on September 15th, 2026 at 10 a.m. pacific for the Open Forum where we will discuss current issues, outstanding questions, and share any input members of the Working Group already have.
The reason the Rapido WG is focusing on Accessibility this year is to help prepare the resource sharing community in the United States for the new Title II ADA digital accessibility rules taking effect April 26, 2027. The main area of concern is the delivery of digital copies of articles or book chapters through Rapido/RapidILL. While the recent updates to RapidILL adding OCR to all requests filled through that network are amazing steps forward, many libraries have expressed concerns that there may be more we need to do to meet the rising standards.
The Rapido Working Group Accessibility Open Forum is a great place for members of the community to express any of their concerns as well as share what their libraries are doing to meet the accessibility needs of our patrons. Check your inbox for an email from Chris and the ELUNA Rapido Working Group in the coming weeks, and use this link to join the call on September 15.
