ELUNA 2014 will take place from April 29th to May 2nd in a single location, downtown Montréal, at the crossroad of two cultures and in the middle of numerous restaurants, bars, cafés, museums, theaters, attractions, shopping malls and even libraries!
ELUNA begins Tuesday evening with a welcome reception. Sessions begin Wednesday morning and run through Friday afternoon. If you are coming for the Ex Libris Tech Seminar, it begins Monday morning (April 28th) and runs through the Tuesday evening reception.
If you are traveling from outside Canada, don’t forget your passport!
Also, please remember that we use Canadian dollars here in Montréal, but since the exchange rate with the US dollar is close to 1, you can almost forget about it when you plan your trip. has changed!
One US dollar is now worth $1.10 Canadian, so coming to Canada will be saving you money!
Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth
ELUNA 2014 will take place in downtown Montréal, at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel and convention center. The hotel offers rooms and suites, bars and restaurants, health club, indoor pool and much more. It is also connected to the extensive underground city with thousands of boutiques, restaurants and cafes. Read the fact sheet for all the details.

All the sessions, lunches and breaks will be held in the convention center within the hotel. Downtown Montréal is well served by public transportation (subway, buses), so you should not need personal transportation to enjoy Montréal during your stay.
Getting to Montréal
Montréal is located in the province of Québec, eastern Canada, close to Boston, New York or Toronto. It is easily accessible by plane, train, bus or car.
By plane
The Montréal-Trudeau international airport has flights from over 130 regular and seasonal destinations, including major cities and hubs in the USA. Whether you are travelling from eastern, central or western parts of North America, or even from Europe, you will easily find a flight to Montréal.
Traveling from the airport to The Queen Elizabeth is easy: just take the 747 bus! After a 30 minute ride for a $10 CAD, you will get off right at the hotel entrance (stop no 5). The $10 fair can be purchased from the automated dispensers located in the International Arrivals Hall or can be paid with the exact change on the bus (ONLY COINS are accepted on the bus – no bank bills – no change given). The fare card is valid for a 24-hour period throughout the bus and metro network of the city of Montréal. The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel is Stop #5 – right across the street from the hotel. Taxis and limousines are also available at a fixed rate.
By train
The Montreal Central Station is located right beneath The Queen Elizabeth; you don’t even need to go outside when you arrive! VIA Rail offers trains from Toronto, Ottawa and Québec with connections to all parts of Canada. You can also take the magnificent Amtrak Adirondack line from New York City or Albany, NY.
By bus
You can easily come to Montréal by bus if you are traveling from eastern Canada or from New York (or any city between New York and Montréal). The bus station is four subway stations from The Queen Elizabeth.

New! Wednesday Night at the Conference
The Local Arrangements Committee is offering 3 activities on Wednesday night after the sessions finish.
Pub Crawl – drink, eat, sing and dance?! Your pub crawl leader, Maggie Allen of McGill, will be setting off from the Fairmont at 6:30. Please sign up at the Registration Desk. This is an informal, unticketed event, with food and drink at your own expense. If you miss the start, you can pick up the group at the first stop – The Bier Markt at 1221 René-Lévesque (corner Drummond St.) – 4 blocks west from the hotel.
Old Montréal Walking Tour – Sarah Severson of McGill is offering an hour-long tour of Old Montréal from 6:30 to 7:30. Please sign up at the Registration Desk.
Old Montréal Jog – Jonathan Dorey of McGill will be leading a 45 minute jog to Old Montréal around the Peel basin. Please sign up at the Registration Desk. Meet in the lobby at 6:15.
