January 2024 Esploro PWG update
The Esploro Product Working Group has been busy with several different projects.
We have started working on the official enhancement process. This first year, we are using items in Idea Exchange and items that had been on the roadmap as sources. We will be adding a selection to the enhancement system. Ex Libris will give them points and then we expect that Esploro customers that are ELUNA and IGELU members will be able to vote in June.
While reviewing Idea Exchange, we will be looking for items that appear to no longer be needed and may suggest closing them. In some cases, it may be an idea that has been partially implemented and we think a fresh idea focusing on the existing problem may make more sense. We are working closely with our Ex Libris colleagues on this. We also encourage you to add comments to anything in Idea Exchange you are particularly interested in.
We have conducted another annual survey of customers to get a better sense of what parts of Esploro institutions are using and what areas would benefit from community discussion and tips. We are beginning to create some community-created tips and best practices documents and hope everyone will contribute!
We are also planning to have community discussions again. We have not had a chance to plan any, but hopefully, we will be announcing a new discussion soon!
