Updates to the Rapido US Pod

The US Pod was one of the very first pods Ex Libris created when they launched Rapido, and since the pod’s creation, there have been features added to other pods which hadn’t yet been added to it.  We attempted to rectify this by polling the community on two questions: whether they wanted an expiry time for the US Pod, and whether they would support extending due dates in the US Pod when the due date falls on a closed day for the borrowing library.

Here were the results!

An image of two charts. One showing overwhelming support for closed due date extension, and the other with a majority preference for 4 day expiry time.
Clearly, the community was very in favor of both adding an expiry time and extending due dates when the due date falls on a closed day (though there was some disagreement about how long the expiry time should be). Meghann Weldon and Mike Richins listened to the community on this issue, and the US pod has been adjusted to include a 4 day expiry time and to extend due dates when the due date falls on a closed day! We are optimistic that we will be able to use this process (of sorts) for future pod changes as well in the absence of a formal process for making changes to pod terms.
