Lavery Library at St. John Fisher University is looking for an organized, detail oriented individual to join our Technical Services Department as the Technical Services Assistant. This is an exciting time to join our staff as we continue services while preparing to move into a completely renovated building slated to open Fall 2025. In addition to a supportive and student-centered atmosphere, this position offers a variety of robust benefits.
This is a full-time library support staff position, working 35 hours per week. This paraprofessional supports the mission of the Library by ordering, processing, and tracking a variety of materials used by our campus community.
A successful candidate will understand the importance of:
· Learning specialized management systems used to order, record, and inventory purchases
· Actively communicating, mostly via email, with professionals and students internal and external to the organization
· Keeping track of items in various stages of being ordered and processed
· Maintaining accurate records, responding to inquiries with order details upon request
· Facilitating access and discoverability of library resources in accordance with continually updated policies and procedures
