The United States Naval Academy invites applications for the position of Head of Library Research & Instruction. The successful candidate will lead and manage the Research & Instruction department within Nimitz Library.  The department provides research support to midshipmen, faculty, and staff through a combination of tailored classroom instruction, one-on-one consultations, and online resources. The successful candidate will support a forward-looking library offering information services at a premier undergraduate institution.

The United States Naval Academy, located in historic Annapolis, MD, is a four-year undergraduate institution with a mission to prepare midshipmen for commissioning as officers in the Navy or Marine Corps. Nimitz Library is staffed by a user-oriented team and the library’s services and collections are aligned with the Academy’s curriculum and designed to support the academic needs of midshipmen and faculty.

The approximate starting salary is $95,000 – $105,000.  The initial review of applications will begin on August 7 but applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
