Working with Ex Libris: Lessons Learned. Gem Stone-Logan, Senior Systems Analyst, University of California. 

For the last several years, the University of California has been working with multiple teams within Ex Libris on improvements requested during its last contract negotiation. As this project recently ended, the presenter reflects on lessons learned and what might be done differently next time. 

You Survived Migration, Now What? Creating a Post-Migration LSP Governance Committee. Anita K. Foster, Head of Acquisitions and Electronic Resources, The Ohio State University. 

In 2025, The Ohio State University Libraries migrated to Alma/Primo along with all OhioLINK member libraries. During the migration process, University Libraries created a steering group and functional committees to support local decision-making throughout the migration. Many staff were also members of consortial migration committees and provided input to the consortium about local practice that supported development of processes in the new shared environment. 

As the consortium moved to production in July 2025, the migration governance committee recognized that the complexity of the new system and related products needed ongoing oversight to continue developing the products and to balance priorities for the use of the new tools across the organization and related constituencies. 

This presentation will describe the new governance committee structure, how the migration committees transitioned to a single governance committee, the LSP Steering Committee, and will highlight the work of the committee in its first year post-migration. 

Migration Opportunities to Improve User Journeys: Wayfinding, Letters, and More. Margaret Heller, Head of Digital Services, DePaul University; Krystal Lewis, User Experience Librarian, DePaul University. 

User journeys trace how a user interacts with physical and digital systems on their way to successful experiences. An example user journey for physical books includes searching for, locating, returning, or paying a fee for a lost book. 

Over the last two years, DePaul University Library went through multiple migrations, and each time took the opportunity to rethink workflows to improve that user journey. One migration was to Springshare’s LibMaps, which required a new integration with Primo and reconsideration of how the library describes its space to users in Primo. 

The presenters will also demonstrate how updates to item policies, letters, and lost item workflows in Alma have improved communication with users about the items they have out. They will present how they approached this work, how it improved user experience, and provide tips for implementing similar improvements at other libraries.
