Springshare Integration with Ex Libris Tools. Talia Resendes, VP, Marketing, Springshare.

Learn how you can integrate Springshare tools and content (LibGuides, LibCal, LibAnswers, and more!) into your Ex Libris tools and vice versa. Plus, we’ll showcase brand-new tools including LibMaps, LibSites, and LibConnect Pro… all with built-in Alma integration. See how other libraries are integrating their Springshare content and beyond!

The Year in Search: Uncovering Library User Behavior with Generative AI. Marlene van Ballegooie, Metadata Technologies Manager, The University of Toronto Libraries.

Understanding how users search is key to improving the performance and relevance of library discovery systems. This session presents insights from a year-long analysis of user search behavior in Primo VE, our library’s discovery platform. Leveraging generative AI, we examined a representative sample of search queries, classifying them by subject area, query type (e.g., author, title, subject/concept), academic discipline, and user intent. By automating the classification process, AI tools enabled us to reveal underlying patterns, surface emerging trends, and generate evidence-based recommendations for improving search relevance and user experience. The study highlights how AI can transform raw data into strategic insights—informing discovery service optimization, enhancing collection development, and shaping user-centered services. This session explores the evolving role of AI in academic libraries and its potential to advance our understanding of user needs.

Transitioning to the NDE UI: A Practical Guide. Aronne Watkins, Head of Access and Discovery Services, Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP).

This presentation offers a comprehensive overview of SLSP’s strategic planning for transitioning to the NDE Primo user interface. It details a phased timeline with key milestones, alongside technical and communication plans designed to engage key stakeholders throughout the transition. The presentation will also highlight resources developed to meet libraries’ needs and expectations, outline a system for collecting and processing feedback from library staff on the new UI, and discuss measures taken to integrate accessibility and usability testing into the process. By the end of this talk, attendees will gain a clear understanding of the planning process and leave with practical tips and a customizable plan to support their own libraries through this change.
