The Primo NDE-UI has been a major focus of the Primo Working Group this year, but it has not been the only focus. Primo WG has been engaged in the varied aspects of development, communication, and support for the Primo and Ex Libris communities.
Primo NDE:
Primo Working Group is actively engaged in the ongoing development and community adoption of the new UI. Primo WG representatives have been active in the NDE Focus Group and in monthly meetings with Primo product management. Primo WG is supporting the use of the Ex Libris Developer Network blog as a platform for community sharing of configuration and customization tips and code, for all versions of Primo but with particular focus on NDE. Primo WG members have been actively creating and contributing “how to” documents. Primo WG is continuing to explore solutions for community needs related to NDE questions and customization. Most recently, Primo WG has added an area for Next Discovery Experience (NDE) Resources on its website, including a List of Primo NDE Customizations and Add-Ons with a form for community contributions.
Community Hangouts:
Primo WG has been hosting bi-monthly Zoom sessions for open “Primo Hangouts,” providing a regular forum for real-time discussion open to all in the Primo user community. These sessions support collaboration and brainstorming among colleagues as well as the opportunity to suggest topics of interest to be addressed with Ex Libris.
Community Enhancements:
With the IGeLU Primo WG, the ELUNA Primo WG is active with CERV year-round. In addition to gathering and reviewing proposals and administering the annual voting process, the WG is engaged in ongoing follow up with Ex Libris about past enhancement requests. The first round of voting for Primo CERV 2026 runs from March 17-April 14, with a second round to follow in June, after and depending on Ex Libris review and pointing of the top voted proposals.
Coordination with other community groups:
Members of the Primo WG are active liaisons and representatives to other community groups, as detailed on the Primo Working Group Members webpage. New groups this year include the Analytics Community of Practice’s Mixpanel Focus Group, the Alma-Digital Working Group, and the Accessibility Community of Practice.
The Call for New Members to serve on the ELUNA Primo Working Group will be going out in late April. Watch for the announcement on the Primo email discussion list, the primary forum for WG news and Primo discussions of all kinds. Questions and comments can always be submitted to the ELUNA Primo Working Group contact form.
