ELUNA Steering Committee Update

Happy New Year from the ELUNA Steering Committee!

As we turn the calendar forward to 2026, I want to share a few news items with the ELUNA membership:

  1. We have a new Technology Coordinator – Dean Lingley, from Purdue University. Dean previously served as an at-large member of the Steering Committee, so we are excited to welcome him back and look forward to his contributions in this role.
  2. As we welcome Dean back, we must also bid a fond farewell to our outgoing Technology Coordinator, John Greer. John began his service to the ELUNA community in 2010 and served as an at-large member and ELUNA Chair in addition to his work as Technology Coordinator. From maintaining the mailing lists our community uses every day to coordinating on-site audiovisual support at the ELUNA conference, John has been an integral member of the Steering Committee for 15 years. We deeply appreciate everything John has done for ELUNA, and wish him the very best going forward.
  3. Electronic ballots for the 2025/2026 ELUNA Steering Committee election will soon go out to institutional contacts. We will be filling three terms during this election cycle and have six excellent candidates to choose from. If your institutional contact does not receive this or any other ballot, please let us know.
  4. Over the last several months, the Steering Committee has been working on updating the organization’s Constitution and Bylaws. The current version was last updated in March 2017, so an update was long overdue. The revisions we made are mostly structural, but any changes to the Constitution and Bylaws are subject to community approval via electronic vote. We will send further information about our proposed changes and the timeline for community voting in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued support of and membership in the ELUNA community, and we look forward to seeing you at the ELUNA Conference in Los Angeles in April!
