The Hunt Library, located on the Daytona Beach, Florida, Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), is recruiting for an Associate Director for Technical Services, a professional administrative position.  As a member of the library Management Team, the successful candidate will lead the Technical Services department, which is responsible for the acquisition and provision of online and physical materials and services in support of residential and distance learning campus programs.

Duties include:

  • Leading the Technical Services department, with responsibility for a staff of seven.
  • Directly supervising two unit heads.
  • Managing staff and processes that ensure the acquisition of and access to library information resources required by the residential and distance learning campuses.
  • Leading the Hunt Library Ex Libris Systems Team.
  • Participating in library administration.

Required qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science
  • Minimum of two years library management experience
  • Experience supervising library professionals
  • Experience in at least one of the department’s cross-functional areas (collection management or cataloging)
  • Experience working in an integrated library system, preferably Ex Libris’ Alma platform
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment and interact and collaborate with individuals of different backgrounds
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Academic library experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with organizational partners
  • Experience leading in a team environment
  • Experience with project management and initiating new services and programs.
