As Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development at Dartmouth College, Jennifer leads staff in the coordination of all aspects of library purchasing while working alongside colleagues in both cataloging and metadata, collection management and preservation, and access services. These close relationships ensure that the receipt, procurement, and delivery of requested items for Dartmouth’s faculty, staff and students are smooth. Work within the acquisitions unit also includes data to support collection needs and decision making for subject liaisons and library administration.
Prior to this role, Jennifer was the Collection Strategy librarian at Rowan University where she oversaw staff in the acquisitions and cataloging areas; coordinated work with the Electronic Resources & Serials and Systems teams. As part of this coordinated work, review and discussion of the Ex Libris systems was a regular occurrence. Jennifer began her career as a Music Librarian at Oklahoma City University and has worked in several libraries that use Ex Libris products including the University of Kentucky, and the University of Notre Dame. Jennifer also has a doctoral degree in Education. Her dissertation was titled Print Versus Electronic: A Mixed-Method Exploration of Student Preferences at Marathon University.
