Old Dominion University Libraries seek qualified candidates for the Systems Librarian position. Reporting to the Head of Systems Development, the Systems Librarian will work collaboratively within and beyond the department to administer, configure, troubleshoot, and coordinate the integrated library system (Alma) and discovery interface (Primo), and related applications and ensure reliable and efficient access to the Libraries’ collections and resources. They will monitor upgrades and enhancements to Alma and Primo applications, track and report technical issues, and work with vendors and library staff to identify, implement, and communicate solutions. They provide leadership in identifying opportunities to leverage Alma and Primo applications to both improve discovery and access of library collections by analyzing Alma and Primo workflows and recommending process changes. They provide, coordinate, and support foundational Alma and Primo training for Libraries staff by developing training materials, coordinating training sessions in person and/or online, and supporting librarians in their efforts to instruct students and faculty how to use the discovery interface to access library resources.
